iCam Pro Support / Windows iCamSource Pro Beta - Object Detection
« on: July 22, 2021, 08:18:39 PM »
The Windows beta version of Object Detection functionality is now available here: https://skjm.com/icampro/WiniCamSource_Beta.zip

The download is a zip file containing the iCamSource Pro executable and several library files.  You can extract the zip file anywhere on your computer.  It will create a directory called "WiniCamsource" which contains several .dll files and an executable file named "WiniCamSource.exe".  Double click the executable file to launch the program.

Object Detection in iCamSource Pro uses a compact deep learning model to detect certain objects when they pass in front of the camera.  Currently, the types of objects being detected include people, dogs, cats, and several types of vehicle.

To use Object Detection:

1) Select the "Object" tab in the iCamSource Pro Preferences window.

2) To enable/disable Object Detection, click the "Enable Object Detection" checkbox.

3) To enable/disable notifications on object detections, click the "Object Detection Notifications" checkbox.

4) To show bounding boxes around detections in the iCamSource Pro preview window, click the "Display Object Detection Boxes" checkbox.  This option increases the CPU usage quite a bit, so the framerate is reduced when it's enabled.  The intention of this option is to verify that the object detection is correctly detecting objects, not to be left on 24/7.

If you have any problems with the installation instructions or with the beta version itself, please let us know in this thread.

iCam Pro Support / Help test iCam Pro viewer software for Mac & Windows
« on: September 08, 2015, 05:21:50 PM »
A new Early Access version of our iCam Pro desktop viewing software is now available for Mac and Windows.  This software allows you to watch and listen to your iCam Pro cameras on your Mac or Windows computer.  This software is still under development, so there may be bugs or other issues.  Please let us know about any problems or comments you have about this software.

The iCam Pro desktop viewing software is available here:

Windows: http://skjm.com/icampro/iCamProViewerWin.zip
Mac: http://skjm.com/icampro/iCamProViewerMac.zip

Installation:

The Mac .zip file contains a Mac app package.  Just unzip the file and launch the iCamProViewer app that is extracted.
The Windows .zip file contains a directory structure.  Just unzip the file (right-click, then "Extract All..), open the unzipped folder, then launch the iCamProViewer.exe file.

Instructions:

When the software is launched, the iCam Pro Viewer window will be blank, with text fields for the login and password at the top, like this:

After you enter the login/password and hit the Start button, the cameras will appear in a row of thumbnail images near the top of the window, like this:

If you only have one camera, that camera will already be zoomed in, there won't be a thumbnail image.

To zoom-in on a camera thumbnail, click on the image for that camera.  The zoomed-in view for that camera will appear below the row of thumbnail images, like this:

To zoom-in on a different camera, click on the thumbnail image for the new camera.  If you click on the zoomed in camera image, it will return that camera to thumbnail mode.

While a camera is zoomed in, audio from that camera will be played, if available.  You can toggle the audio playback by hitting the Mute/Unmute button, like this:

Troubleshooting:

The error messages shown by this software should be the same errors you'd see in the iOS iCam Pro app.  There's more information about troubleshooting iCam Pro errors here: http://skjm.com/forum/index.php?topic=174.0

If you see any other error messages, please send a screenshot of the error message to support@skjm.com.

iCam Support / Audio on Android
« on: February 03, 2011, 10:50:58 PM »
A user has reported a problem with the audio in iCam on his Android phone.  We're unable to replicate the problem on our test Android phones and we haven't had reports of the same problem from other users (yet).

The problem this user is experiencing is that the video in the iCam app will freeze in fullscreen view if audio is enabled in the iCam app and in iCamSource (with the Android checkbox checked).  If "No Audio" is selected in iCamSource, then the video doesn't freeze in iCam.

If you're seeing similar behavior in iCam on your Android phone, please let us know the following:
 1) Brand/Model of your Android phone
 2) version of Android on the phone (for example, "2.2 (Froyo)")
 3) whether your phone is rooted or running an unofficial ROM.

We haven't been able to track down the cause of the problem so far, but hopefully we can get some more information from other users to help narrow it down.

iCam Support / Broker Connection Errors 7/21/09
« on: July 21, 2009, 07:50:36 PM »
The Broker Server (and the backup server) have both been down for about 30-45 minutes.  This is causing all iCam users to get a Broker Connection Error.  We're pretty sure we know the cause of the problem, so it should be resolved soon.  If there is any new information, I'll put it in this thread.

Thank you for your patience

EDIT: The servers were down for about an hour.  They've been up without issue since then.  We've identified the cause of the problem and are putting fixes in place to keep it from happening again.

iCam Support / Windows Beta Test - Image encoding issues - RESOLVED
« on: December 14, 2008, 01:18:16 AM »
UPDATE:  There is a new release available that seems to resolve this issue.  If you are experiencing this problem, please download it at http://skjm.com/icam/iCamSetup.exe and let us know how it goes.
--------------------------------------------------------

Thank you very much to everybody that has been helping beta test the new Windows version of iCamSource.

One issue that has shown up is that the image that is displayed on the iPhone is garbled, it looks like colorful static.  This appears to be an issue with the encoding process.

If you're seeing similar behavior, please post in this thread or email support@skjm.com.
