greenham - It's not a supported configuration because running multiple instances of the iCamSource on the same computer is not the way the iCamSource was designed to be run. It was originally intended to be run on separate computers at separate locations. Now, that being said, many many users have had success running multiple instances on the same computer, it's just that when you start adding USB hubs into the equation that the webcams connected through them have been known to have issues maintaining a connection with the computer. If you are planning on running any number of cameras through a USB hub I would definitely make sure that it is independently powered, and if you have issues I would try connecting the cameras directly into the computer first.

Dean - What are the make and model of the cameras you are using?

zyquest - Do you have the latest drivers for your webcam installed? What make and model webcam do you have? What Audio and Video items are you choosing in the respective drop-down lists?

iCam Support / Re: iCamSource 1.1.2 Just hangs

93mastercraft - Strange ... this is the first we've heard of this issue.

Since it started hanging after you rebooted, maybe there is another application that auto-started when you rebooted that was also using the webcam, causing the iCamSource to "fight" for it? Have you tried rebooting again?

schmeke - Thanks for the feedback. Both of those items have been requested in the past and are currently near the top of our list of potential features to implement in the future. :)

Ken - Thank you for your positive feedback. :)

As for your connectivity issue, the problem might be that your work network is more restrictive than most, not allowing outgoing UDP communication to the Internet. I am not sure if you can ask whoever is responsible for IT to see if this is the case.

In the meantime, if you could go to http://whatismyipaddress.com/ from either your iPod or computer at work and e-mail what it says your external IP address is to support@skjm.com, referencing this forum post, then I can attempt to look it up in the iCam Broker Server logs to see if we can gain some more insight into what might be happening.

y2kemo - Audio shouldn't stop working after a later running of the program. Are you running the Windows or Mac version of the iCamSource?

As for your WiFi questions, are your wired PC and WiFi Laptop on the same local network? And are they on the same local network as your iPhone when connected via WiFi? To better understand your situation it would help if you could go to http://whatismyipaddress.com/ from your computer and e-mail what it says your external IP address is to support@skjm.com

That way we can hopefully look it up in the iCam Broker Server logs and further troubleshoot your problem.

robaco78 - When you make a copy of the iCamSource are you running both the original and the copy at the same time? And are you choosing a different camera when you run each copy? Running two cameras from the same computer isn't really the supported configuration, but many users have had success doing just that.

Also, are you using the same login and password on both sources and iCam on your iPhone?

drasticplastic - The previous iCamSource version, 1.0, doesn't include sound: http://skjm.com/icam/iCamSetup1.0.exe

drasticplastic - What are the choices you have in both the Video and Audio drop-downs on the iCamSource? If you have more than one choice for the audio input, and if you try to use a different one, do you get any error messages? (I understand that you might not get sound through iCam doing that, but the more configurations we can try, the better.) :)

drasticplastic - Is your webcam one of these? : http://lorexstore.lorextechnology.com/results.aspx?searchFor=mcam&x=0&y=0

If so, which one?

Are you running any other software or programs that might be trying to use the camera at the same time, possibly causing a conflict? Are you able to record audio from the camera from any other application?

yoyosma - When an iCamSource is idle it is sending a small amount of data (about 100 bytes) every 5 seconds or so to the iCam Broker Server to let it know it is still there. That equates to about 61 MB of data uploaded per month if it is just sitting there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When iCam or iCamWeb is connected, then naturally the image data being uploaded will be added to the total.

I hope that answers your questions. :)
