iCam Support / Re: Any chance for 2-way audio with iCam?
« on: August 13, 2012, 06:05:17 PM »
Works great on the iOS app FoscamPro. It's another $5, but pretty sweet. Also supports pan, tilt, and camera position presets.

I know, I know, I mentioned the competition. iCam would do well to mimic some of the features that FP offers, because iCam has a head start with regards to push notifications via the desktop application. C'mon guys, you can do it!

Running it here with no problems. I know that doesn't help your issue, but just wanted to assure that the program is designed to be compatible with ML.

Beta Testing / Re: Is there a way to have images forwarded to email?
« on: August 13, 2012, 06:00:17 PM »
Icam is great but I use the motion detection feature to capture images but I have noticed that when icam is not running or turned off I no longer have access to those images. Now what good would that be if in the event my laptop got stolen. I would have not images to go back to to see. So I was wondering if there is some kind of software that can take the images and automatically email the new images.

Please let me know anyone. Thanks

The Dropbox answer only solves half of your problem. The answer to your question is "it depends." What kind of camera are you asking about?

You need to assign your camera a static IP address instead of allowing it to have an IP address assigned by the router. To do that, login to your camera's webpage and assign it the IP address that you currently have added to icamsource. In your example, that would be: 10.0.1.9

That should fix the problem.

This fixed my problem. Thank you very much for your help and patience.

iCam Support / Re: Foscam FI8910W (Black) Wireless N IP Camera

I don't have a baseline to compare it to. The night photos seem fine. It ain't HD. The IR illuminator (glowing red ring of LEDs) is certainly visible, but not intrusive. As far as rotating, it's great, although the iCam app swipe control is abysmal. There are other apps that allow you to use and store presets (screenshot below), and provide a joystick for more granular control. ICam team, consider this a feature request!

To provide a sense of scale, that's a full size ping pong table in the game room. It's pitch black in there right now.

These were all taken with our FI8910W cameras.

Let me just get this out of the way first: I love iCam.  Your software rocks, and we feel much safer knowing we can log in and see our home while we're away.

Problem: Almost once a week, I get the "No Sources Found" error in the app.  I call my wife at home, she unplugs the cameras from the wall and plugs them back in.  Still no sources found.  I use LogMeIn to connect to the iMac, open Foscam's IP tool, and paste the new local IP addresses (like 10.0.1.9:6001) into iCamSource.  Then we're back in business for another 7 days or so.

Details:
iCamSource 2.4.8 on a late-2011 iMac w/ Lion
Airport Extreme
(2) Foscam FI8910W

Not sure if I'm missing a step here, or if I left out any details.  Please let me know, and I will add them.

Stop the first camera (hit Stop) and then add the second by clicking the + button.

iCam Support / Push Notification Works, But Camera Does Not Appear
« on: July 10, 2012, 07:52:42 AM »
I run iCamSource on my iMac and my wife's MacBook Pro. When I get a notification of movement from the MBP on my iPad or iPhone, I open the iCam app and do not see the MBP listed. I only see the iMac.
