ok, as I said it's cool, but..
..what about that behavior, of the widescreen camera only, that update images @ 1fps when in fullscreen? (in local network of course)
is the same problem I had with all cameras in the prevoius version and you gave me some beta logger versions to solve the problem, and you did it...

iCam Support / Error code 14 - Render Stream Failed
« on: July 26, 2013, 10:18:34 AM »
I recently bought another webcam, the Logitech c310.

When I START button even if I can see the image, iCam says that:
"Rebooting your PC or updating drivers may resolve the problem."

and no image on the devices.

I rebooted, and I'm sure I've the last drivers.

"Error Code 14 - Render Stream Failed

This error means that the iCamSource is having problems communicating with your webcam.

First make sure that there are no other applications attempting to use the webcam at the same time as the iCamSource. Make sure that your webcam is plugged directly into your computer, and not into a USB hub. If it is already plugged directly into your computer, try plugging it in to a different USB port.

Next, try rebooting your computer. If you are still having issues, make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your webcam.

If none of those things help, you can try installing these two operating system prerequestites required by the iCamSource:

Visual C++ Redistributable Package: http://skjm.com/icam/vcredist_x86.exe
.NET Framework: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=333325FD-AE52-4E35-B531-508D977D32A6&displaylang=en"

I read this but I get the error anyway

help please..
 :)

Edit2: ok nevermind, I think I solved, don't know really how, it's hard to make all the webcams run correctly when you have many and slow pcs...

Excuse me, today I noticed for the first time the I can swipe the image of a widescreen camera, left or right like a digital PTZ.
Is this a new feature of the last recent update or it always has been there and I didn't noticed it until today?

It's cool..anyway what I meant is:
it's possible to zoom out the entire image as I can see all the field of view without to PAN?

Thanks.

edit:

"Increasing the size of the images captured by the iCamSource as well as supporting High Definition 16:9 aspect ratio streams are something that we are looking into, but there are many aspects of the software that we would need to take into account. (Increased storage requirements, increased processor usage, increased bandwidth, etc.) Additionally, displaying a mix of 4:3 and 16:9 streams on 16:9 (iPhone 5), 1.5:1 (iPhone 4S and earlier), and 4:3 (iPad) aspect ratio screens is going to need some working out."

Ah! I read this just now, so I presume the PAN feature is new, and if I understood well, you want to add the possibility to zoom out in the future..
right?

edit2: I also noticed that now the widescreen camera run smooth when in preview mode but if I double tap in to fullscreen, it refresh itself only 1 time a second, I again have the problem discussed here:

iCam Support / 16/9 resolution
« on: May 19, 2013, 07:55:52 AM »
Hi,

I have a logitech c525, a very common webcam I think, it support an aspect ratio of 16/9, but in icamsource as well as in some other surveillance software that I tried, the full field of view of the camera cannot be showed, I see the image cutted on the left and right to fit the 4/3 resolution.
Can you do something for this?

Thanks

iCam Support / Re: enable motion and record motion events
« on: March 25, 2013, 01:32:17 PM »
well, maybe I explained it not well. by the way I realized how it works.
I was talking about "enable motion detection" and "record events", they are 2 different options.
I need to keep enable motion detection to have the possibility to enable or not the record events from the device bacuse there's no "enable motion detection" option in cam.

Excuse me, I have a moment of confusion:
when I enable the icam option "record events" it does not "enable the motion detection" in icamsource, right?
are they 2 different separate things?
So I need to keep motion always enabled before I leave the house, and then I can decide to record events or not by enable the icam option, that's correct?

ps: changing topic, talking about new version, it's working good, I had a couple of crash related to lame.dll again, but it occurs rarely.

It sounds like the LAME crash issue is not consistent, is that correct? (We are trying to replicate it.)

Does it crash when you are using only one camera, or when using more than one? Does it matter if you are connected using iCam at the time when you click Stop?

if I've understood well what "consistent" means, yes, the crash sometimes doesn't occour, EVEN with multiple webcams.
I can't reproduce issue with only one camera connected.
No, doesn't matter if I connect with iCam or not.

i tried sometimes today, will do other tests tonight or tomorrow.
thanks.

EDIT: anyway I used iCam today, while i was out, it worked good, with 2 instances and a total of 5 webcams, 3 logitech + 2 SmartCam.

Ok good, well to know.

If I can ask about the 2.6, would you please add a feature that permits to talk with the server?
I mean to send voice to my home speakers by pressing a button.
So I will be able talk to my cat or just tell at the thief that his bones will be broken soon.

..and yes, apparently lame.dll crash occours only when I stop the server, but I'll do others tries soon and will report it.

Hi, I'm enough satisfated about the FPS side, but I still have some crash when I stop the server(often is lame.dll), and sometimes I receive an error in iCam too. Something like a notify a bad response from the server, btw it continue to work.

With multiple webcamera there's a bit of troubles when first settings and after too.
Sometimes there's something goes wrong, not all cameras is showing..

When about to correct those problems too?
And what about will you release an official 2.6 stable version?
