iCam Support / Re: iCamQV - QuickView
« on: February 06, 2012, 07:27:29 AM »
Thanks ... but ... I do have an IP camera ... plus ... 4 other cameras associated with their own PCs. I have to have iCam and the cameras running all of the time, when I just want to be able to "quick view" a camera from time to time. It is a different need than I originally had when I got iCam ... so I wondered if iCam could evolve as well.

iCam Support / iCamQV - QuickView
« on: February 06, 2012, 05:14:49 AM »
Greetings.
Is there a way of creating an iCam QuickView (iCamQV) version? This would be a really lightweight (emphasis lightweight) "video/audio server" that turns on a PC's/Mac's camera when accessed remotely, and turns it off when the App (iPhone/iPad/Android) is closed. In other words it is auto-answer, auto-close capable. This is strickly for those of us who might want a periodic "quick view" of our remote cameras - one at a time. I for one, no longer want all my cameras active all the time (even though the PCs are on). iCamQV could have In-App purchases for additional features if needed.
Thanks.

Just FYI: my FI8908W works fine (PTZ) with iCam/iCamSource

I have the Foscam but I cannot figure out how to get the pan-tilt feature to work...

Any help would be appreciated...

Bring the Foscam camera view to the front, then sweep across screen left to right - right to left, or up and down = pan / tilt.

There were a couple of other "issues" that I highlighted in my email with attached screenshots. You might want to take a look.  Thanks.

iCam Support / ipCam - can't see it in iCamSource 2.3.1 Beta
« on: August 09, 2011, 10:09:22 AM »
This should be simple ... but .. I can't get it to work.  I have ipCam running on my iPhone 3Gs ... it gives me a local IP address and the TCP port (83) I selected (http://192.xxx.x.xxx:83) ... in my router TCP port 83 is forwarded to the local address.  In iCamSource I am using URL http://192.xxx.x.xxx:83/videostream.cgi - MJPEG (Auto Config Router is checked). What I get is: 404 Webcam URL not found ... can someone tell me what I have done wrong?
---
Edit: Also When I apply a Port Range to one of my cameras, it applies the same port range to all cameras - the same is true if I use Auto Config Router, applied to one = applied to all?
---
Edit: Now iCamSource 2.3.1 is crashing.  Sometimes on my iPhone I see a 4 window view - sometimes a 9 window view - then I (sometimes) see 2 of my cameras - but the picture is frozen (on both iPhone and Windows XP PC) - then iCamSource crashes (I have a screen grab .bmp if you need it).

I guess I really misunderstood what ipCam could do.  What would you use it for?  I can't see leaving my iPhone home to act as a "webcam" ... how are others using it ... thanks.

ipCam Support / ipCam over 3g
« on: August 08, 2011, 05:42:27 AM »
Greetings.  I just installed ipCam and it works great on my home LAN.  Is it possible to use this over a 3g connection?  I shut off WiFi on my iPhone 3gs to force it over 3g.  I then try the external address provided in Advanced, as well as the http:// address provided at the bottom of the Advanced screen - but I cannot connect over 3g.
Using the same method, iCam works just fine ... I've enabled DynDNS and that doesn't work either.
Any ideas?  Thanks!

Said another way ... if I am out on the road, can someone in my house connect to my iPhone ipCam and see what I want to show them?

iCam Support / Re: new version - icamsource 2.1.6
« on: November 13, 2010, 09:28:48 PM »
I'm back to v2.1.5 and all is well again.  Deleting the Program Files folder seemed to be the key. Thanks for the help.
---
Follow up.  All four of my camera sources are now working on v2.1.6.  It took a "clean install" (uninstall old version - including the Registry entries and Program Files folder) ... (and re-boot) but all seems to be working - including audio via iPhone.

Just FYI:  Just installed v2.1.6 over v2.1.5 and it is "crashing".  That is, when the Preferences window was opened, it closed by itself after about 1 minute and terminated the program ... also ... there was no audio on iPhone, and the video first was ok, and then just locked up.
---
I can't uninstall v2.1.6 to go back to v2.1.5.  I've tried to unistall the 2.1.6 version (also tried "Repair") ... each time after uninstall and re-boot I try to install v2.1.5 ... each time the process completes v2.1.6 is still there (including the lock up and audio problems)

iCam Support / Re: Need a little help: Foscam FI8908W IP Camera (MJPEG)
« on: September 18, 2010, 07:51:52 PM »
Thanks it did help - but - the trick was clicking on the little "+" symbol under Cameras to "add" another camera. Until I stumbled onto that I couldn't start the IP camera - Start was greyed out.  Appreciate the help.

iCam Support / Need a little help: Foscam FI8908W IP Camera (MJPEG)
« on: September 18, 2010, 06:09:08 PM »
Just purchased and installed the camera. All works well ... well, except I can't get iCamSource (2.1.1) to work with it. I select Ethernet/WiFi - tried the local, and later the DynDNS URL and port of the camera - click MJPEG, enter the camera USER ID and Password ... and then the Network Camera Error message appears.  Any ideas or suggestions?  Thanks.
