iCam Support / iCamWeb won't connect
« on: June 22, 2017, 03:32:07 PM »
I saw an old 2011 topic on this but here's a new one. On a Mac 10.12.5 on both Safari and Firefox but after login it says "connecting" for over a minute but never connects. I switched to Firefox and was told to update Java, which I did, but then I got this:
Your connection is not secure

The owner of skjm.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.

Safari still does the eternal connection thing. iCamWeb hasn't worked for me for over a year now, several different computers and multiple OS. Ugh!

iCam Support / Fading in and out
« on: September 20, 2010, 04:31:32 PM »
I have iCamSource installed on account 1 of my Mac 10.4.11 and a copy installed on account 2.

Account 1 sends audio and video when active.  Account 2 sends video only when active. iChat for both shows audio chat available. I'm observing the screen remotely via Apple Remote Desktop.

Both accounts periodically just quit with no activity on the computer.  Account 2 iCam Source menu (top of screen) symbol is currently black for 30 sec and then gray for 10 sec, black for 30 sec, gray for 10. This continues forever unless quit and restart iCam Source. While it's black, my iphone has the spinning, trying to connect symbol. The moment it goes gray, my iphone stops the spinning and I get the Source Connection Error.  This appears to be just the timing of me launching iCam the instant the computer symbol goes black. The spinning connection attempt on the iPhone seems to take 30 secs to the error message regardless of the computer display.

I just quit and relaunched iCam Source (copy). Video is available on my iphone but no audio.  The iCam Source menu icon is solid black and is now left of the date and time in the menu bar vs. right of that as it was earlier.... never mind. The menu icon is gone. It quit again. What a hassle.

iCam Support / Apple Remote Desktop shuts off iCam Source
« on: June 09, 2010, 10:11:37 AM »
I'm looking at the live video on my iPhone and connect my home computer to the source computer via ARD, Apple Remote Desktop and when the remote computer's screen appears on my home computer there is no iCam Source icon in the menu of the source computer. I then get the Source Connection Error on my iPhone and Connection Closed and there is no more viewing from the camera.

I'll have iCam running on a computer and observing fine but when a different user (account) on the iCam Source computer logs in via Fast User Switching, iCam is dead on the new user's side even though I have it set up to automatically start at login.  Switching back to the original user and iCam Source is quit there.

As it is, iCam will not work for me with multiple users (2) on the iCam Source computer. Any way around this?

iCam Support / iCam Buddy List (iChat) problems
« on: June 08, 2010, 11:04:37 AM »
I have to go to iChat>Video>(unselect) Enable Camera so iCam Source can use it. This is a hassle when operating the iCam Source computer remotely via ARD. It seems iChat wins the fight for the camera when going back and forth between users (accounts) on the computer as iCam stops working and iCam Source quits apparently.

On the iCam Source computer I never want to video chat via iChat. Is there a way to semi permanently disable the camera from iChat?  I do need to do text chats via iChat so I can't just shut it off.

iCam Support / iCamSource icon not appearing in iBook G4 menu
« on: May 16, 2010, 11:44:19 AM »
Everything works except the iCamSource icon not appearing in iBook G4 menu.  Running OS 10.5.8

I've restarted the iBook and reinstalled the iCamSource but still no icon in the Menu and never see the Preferences on the iBook.

On a Wifi network with my desktop iMac and everything works perfectly there.
