iCam Support / FI8918W tilts up
« on: February 23, 2012, 04:24:45 PM »
Every couple days I will find one of my FI8918 cams has tilted up by itself.  Both of them do it but I haven't looked through my many motion events to see how often or when they do this. Any ideas on the cause?  Has anyone else experienced this?  It's quite frustrating.
Thanks.

ipCam Support / Refocusing

My old iPhone 4 keeps refocusing, thus incurring false motion events. Is this a known issue or might it have to do with the phone having incurred water damage?

How well do you think an old iPhone 3g will work as a permanent icam cam?

iCam Support / 2 eyetoy cameras
« on: November 20, 2010, 11:12:31 PM »
I recently got a new mac mini and installed 8 gigs of ram.  After making sure things ran smoothly I decided to start iCam again. So I hooked up one of my old eyetoy webcams and downloaded macam and it worked perfectly so I decided to take advantage of my new power and add my second eyetoy but now I cant see either cam in the video dropdown.  I tried to play with the settings in macam but nothing seems to work.  Could it have something to do with them having the same name and or model?  If so I wouln't know how to change that. I'm not having any errors or anything so it looks like something simple. :)

iCam Support / iPhone as ip cam
« on: April 29, 2010, 08:56:41 PM »
Would you please consider adding support for apps that use the iPhone itself as an ip cam.  I have tried a couple of these and none of them work with iCam.  Furthermore, I know this is a little far fetched but if you guys made an app like this that integrates with iCam without having a computer, that would be a must have for me.  I am mainly interested in this because I have an old iPhone that just sits around and serves as test dummy once in a while.  I know many others have paperweight iPhones too.   People could set up iCams anywhere with wifi and wouldn't even need a computer.  This would be awesome!
Keep up the great work guys!

iCam Support / Feature Suggestions: Mass delete
« on: December 31, 2009, 09:27:22 PM »
I am absolutly loving this app but I have 2 feature suggestions. First, on the iPhone I would love to see a mass delete feature for motion events like in mail where you hit edit or whatever and check the check boxes you want to delete and hit the delete button.  Also, I would like a feature in preferences on the computer (and the iPhone preferably) that deletes files older than certain increments of time(1 day, 2 days, a weak, a month).  It has just become troublesome to do this manually especially since I have 3 cams running on 3 different computers. I could really use some more automation. Actually there is one more thing I would like to suggest but this is just an idea, it would be helpful to me at least if you could select an area of the image that you want to be motion detectable and the rest either less sensitive or undetectable. This is only because I have one of my cameras pointing at my long driveway which is hard to view fully without viewing the road but i am not sure if others would find this useful. Anyway thanks for a great app and keep the innovation coming! ;D

If you set a space limit will it prevent new images from being saved or delete old ones?

iCam Support / Multiple icams
« on: October 25, 2009, 04:26:37 PM »
i have an old Toshiba (like over 5 yrs) running xp and i have it monitoring my driveway on my 3rd floor.  It is connected to wireless from the 1st floor and it says low but it works well.  I would like to connect another camera.  It only has one usb port and i was wondering if getting a usb hub to attach a second camera would be a good idea or not.  Does a hub significantly slow it down and will running 2 icams on this computer slow down the video speed, this is all i am running on the computer.  Oh and also when will auto image capture be available?  I set up the camera to get a good view of incoming cars and the other would get the licence plates, it would be really nice to have a database of all incoming and outgoing cars, being that i live on a farm with a quarter mile driveway where people are constantly coming and going.
