iCam Support / Wansview W2 - set-up authorization error - i'm stumped!?!
« on: January 05, 2017, 03:20:06 AM »
As an iCamsource (and iCam) user for the past 4 years, I have had 4x FI8910W's all running smoothly without problem. iCamsource runs on my iMac and iCam on my iPhone, all over my home Wifi Network.

This week I decided to add a new external camera to the system, I ordered a Wansview W2 (specs at the bottom of the page), used the proper URL's and set it up just like the existing foscam's, but no matter what I do I just get a 401 webcam authorization error in iCamsource, telling me the u/n and p/w to the Wansview is wrong.

I can access the camera pictures through my browser and I've tested it on the Wansview app, and it works without problem. I've changed and changed back the camera u/n and p/w, reset them, reset the camera totally etc, but nothing seems to work.

I've tried to get a working picture form this page: http://skjm.com/icam/mjpeg_test.php but none of them gives me a response, all URL's error.

The wansview uses H.264/MJPEG so I assumed (perhaps incorrectly?) that it would work with iCamsource.

Any advice would be welcomed.

Many thanks

I'll keep it short and sweet:

iMac (running OSX 10.7.4)
BT Homehub 3 (iMac connected directly to it via WiFi)
iCamsource 2.4.4 running on the iMac
2x foscam F18910W's being used wirelessly through the BT Homehub 3
No firewalls, no restictions.

 - The iCam app on my iPhone and iPad will connect fine if I am using the same BT Homehub 3 Wifi network, however when on 3G I get the "Source Connection Error" message. I've read about Port forwarding, however on portforward.com there's no option for the Homehub 3.

- I've tried 'Auto config', and it says "success", but no joy
- I've logged into the HH3 control panel and tried switching off the firewall, but no joy.
- I've logged into the HH3 control panel and made sure UPnP is enabled, but no joy.

I'm a bit stuck as I bought this app purely so I can monitor my dog when I am work. I know my way around most settings, but I'm a bit stumped here and I'm afraid I'm going to do more damage than good if I continue...

Help?   ???

Thanks in advance.
