iCam Support / iCamSource 2.7.2 Released

I'm running a quad-core iMac here. No scarcity of CPU power. I use Vitamin D to record video from these cameras 24 hours a day, nonstop. Barely makes a blip on the CPU screen. What makes iCam any different?

Why would someone buy 15 fps cameras just to dumb them down to 2 fps? Is that what it takes for your software to work correctly?

Yes, I have turned the motion detection frequency down as far as it will go.

5 cameras total. 4 are Foscam FI8910W, connected wirelessly through Airport Extreme 6th Gen with 65 mb/s Speedtest-verified connection. 1 camera is iSight from the iCamSource host iMac.

I stopped using iCam Source for the past 4 months because it was slowing down my while computer (quad core iMac). Does this update address that problem?

...and completely negate the purpose of buying a 30fps camera.

Geez I wish there was a better solution on the market. Are you updating or improving iCam Source any time soon?

Is there a way I can use my iphone to view my house without keeping computer on?
I hate having to run my laptop all day and night. >:(

Yes. Just use Safari on your iPhone. Skip iCam.

Don't listen to any of these people who tell you this can't be done. Look at the Foscam FI8910W on Amazon. I have 4 of them.

When iCam is running on your computer, motion events will be recorded. When your computer is off, you can still log in to the camera on your mobile phone and see the live view.

Update......we shared the images on Facebook and they went viral....after one month his family saw them and turned him in.At first he denied but when the cops showed him the printed out images he had no choice but to confess. He was arrested and three days later bonded out.We are waiting on a court date now.

Does it still render video in 720p HD using this method?

How did this work out for you?

I'd like to know how long it normally takes for a feature request to be implemented or if there are any real plans to make this a feature soon.

JFK was president the last time these guys crossed something off their "list of potential features to implement."

Ok, so I can't find anywhere to view the *current* FPS settings, but I followed the instructions to lower each camera to 5 FPS.  Question: Does typing in blah.blah.blah/video.cgi?rate=whatever into my browser actually *change* the settings of my camera, or does it just show me  the camera's view at the FPS rate?
