iCam Support / Windows 10 Compatibility
« on: June 02, 2015, 12:18:26 AM »
So I was hit with the "Get Windows 10" icon on my desktop last night and before I make the commitment to upgrade in July, I just wondered if there were any foreseeable compatibility or stability issues with iCam source anticipated. I'd rather continue using iCam than upgrade my OS.

Thanks guys, you're always a huge help, no matter what issues arise!

Hi forum,
Just wondering if anyone using an iPhone 6+ has encountered any issues with iCam. I'm waiting to upgrade my phone until I'm sure iCam will run. After all, it is my most important and heavily used app.

Thanks for your input guys!

iCam Support / Re: Modem compatibility

Thank you so much! When I find out the model, I will post here to see if it is compatible. It was also my understanding, from my service provider anyway, that by default, the router is turned off on their combo modem/routers. If that's the case, it would hope it wouldn't be an issue.  Thank you very much for your reply! As always, amazing tech support from you guys! :)

iCam Pro Support / iCam pro in addition to iCam
« on: June 17, 2014, 12:37:09 AM »
Hey everyone!
Just wanted to ask a quick question before upgrading to iCam pro.

I have used iCam for many years and absolutely LOVE IT! It has taken some tweaking, but I have everything from connectivity to motion capture, perfect. My question is: if I were to also install iCanPro Source, would I be able to just back and forth from iCam and Pro? Obviously, I wouldn't be able to use both at once, but could both Sources be installed on the same PC without any issues, as long as they're not both running at the same time. Also, would I open the same port range in my router for Pro that I now use for iCam?

Thank you all for any assistance!

iCam Support / Modem compatibility

Hey everyone,

Does anyone out there have a list of modems that are incompatible with iCam. I'm replacing my modem and the one my service provider supplies (Mediacom) is a docsis 3, i believe. Just wanting to avoid any connectivity issues with iCam.

Thanks everyone!!

Good to know, thanks for the response! I really appreciate the help!

The previous router I was using was a Cisco Linksys E1000 and I had no problem setting up iCam with it.
After some research, I believe I'll be upgrading to the Cisco Linksys EA3500. Has any testing been done with this router or has anyone out there had any issues getting iCam to cooperate with it?

As always, thank you all for your time and assistance!

iCam Support / Recommended Routers
« on: January 04, 2014, 03:48:55 AM »
Hey everyone!

I've been using iCam for a couple years now. I run 4 cameras constantly with 1 of those cameras recording to Dropbox.

Lately though, I've been have some connectivity problems with my router or modem, not sure which is to blame. So I plan on replacing the router first.

Just wanted to know if anyone has a recommendation for a router they have had great luck with. iCam is probably the most taxing on my wifi setup so I may need something beefy. My current router I've had for 3 years which is how long I've been running iCam. I've read that some aren't compatible with iCam Source so I want to make sure I purchase one that will work with iCam.

Thank you all for your time and help! This forum is amazing with so many great people willing to offer excellent advice.

iCam Support / Wireless card to stream 2 webcams
« on: October 29, 2013, 06:35:47 PM »
Hey everyone, I was thinking about adding 2 addional cameras to my iCam setup at home using an extra PC I have. I was wondering if there were any specs I needed to take into consideration when installing a wireless card into the new PC that would be wirelessly streaming that footage to my network.
Thanks everyone,
 Ryan

As always OUAnthony, it's a pleasure to get a great response from you! :) Thank you!
My only other question is, since you recommend using a new port range for the second PC, would it matter what range I use? If I'm using 12000 to 12100 for the first PC, then could I use, say, 12101 to 12201 for the second PC?

Thanks again for all your help! :)

iCam Support / Running iCam on multiple PCs-Same Wifi network-Same Account
« on: September 03, 2013, 10:55:46 PM »
Hey everyone! Had a quick question. I've been running iCam Source on a Windows 7 PC with 4 webcams for a couple years now. Everything works great! I've recently acquired a second PC and would like to expand my collection of cameras.
  My question is:
Can I set up cameras on 2 different PCs, simply by downloading iCam Source on the new PC (which is on the same WiFi network BUT not hardwired to the router) and then opening the same port range in my router that I have open for the old PC, but now including the IP address of the new PC?

Ideally, when I'd open the iCam app on my iPhone, I'd see a collection of all the cameras from both PCs on the screen simultaneously, even though they'd be from 2 separate IP addresses. Am I correct in thinking this and did I leave any steps out?

As always, thank you for your time and assistance with this matter. This forum has always been great to me!
