Title: Sound issue in windows 10 when running on different account
Post by: dmu on June 11, 2016, 03:04:25 AM
Hi,

I have been using the following method to hide the iCamSource in windows 7:
1. Rename exe-file
2. Switch to another user
3. Start iCamSource on the other user
4. Switch back to normal user
This way the iCamSource is only visible in TaskManager when viewing 'all processes' and then only under a different name.

After upgrading to Windows 10 this still works, but I have no sound from the cam. Video is fine. If I do not switch back to my normal user, the audio is fine too. It seems that the sound is cut off when running on an account that is not active.

Is it a problem with iCamSource, the Webcam driver or is it a new 'feature' in Windows 10? I have tried 4 different webcams (Creative, Microsoft and Logitech C210 and C525) and the problem is the same, so probably not the webcam driver...

Any ideas?

Unfortunately, this behavior is controlled by Microsoft. iCamSource uses Microsoft's media libraries to capture audio.
